Do I need an account to share images?
No. You can create a share without signing in. An account is useful when you want to manage shares later.
Can I protect a link with a password?
Yes. Password protection is optional and can be combined with an expiry date or view limit.
Free image upload questions
Which image formats and sizes does Picyo accept?
Picyo accepts JPEG, PNG, and WebP images. Each source image can be up to 20 MB, and one share can contain up to five images.
Is image upload really free without an account?
Yes. You can create a Picyo share without paying or signing in. Daily image limits apply, and an account is optional for ongoing link management.
Does Picyo create a direct image URL?
Picyo creates a short page link that presents the images together and supports optional access controls.
Does Picyo upload my untouched original file?
No. Editing happens in the browser, and Picyo uploads prepared copies. Capture details and GPS are removed by default; the source file is not uploaded.
How long does an image share stay available?
You can choose an expiry when creating the share. Even without a scheduled expiry, a share is deleted after 90 days without a valid view; each new valid view restarts that period.
Private sharing questions
Can I combine a password and expiry date?
Yes. Password, expiry, and view-limit controls can be used together when creating the share.
Will a protected image appear in a chat preview?
No image preview is published for password-protected or sensitive shares; the card identifies Picyo without revealing the content.
Image mosaic questions
Does the mosaic tool work on a phone?
Yes. The editor supports touch interaction in current mobile browsers as well as pointer input on desktop.
Can I review the image before uploading?
Yes. The edited preview remains visible so you can check the result before creating the share.
Retention and image privacy
Does no scheduled expiry mean permanent storage?
No. A share is automatically deleted after 90 days without a valid view. Each new valid view restarts the 90 days.
What counts as a valid view?
A new browser session counts after it passes the share's password, adult-content, and view-limit checks. Reloads in the same session and known preview crawlers do not restart retention.
What image details are removed by default?
Picyo removes capture details and GPS by default. JPEG uploads can keep selected camera and exposure details, while GPS requires a separate confirmation.
Is the original-dimension download the original file?
No. It keeps the edited pixel dimensions but is freshly encoded. The source file is not uploaded.
